About Giant Panda Cam

Giant Panda Cam (giantpandacam.com) is an independent English-language reference site for one very specific question: where can I watch giant pandas in the United States right now? It tracks the three US zoos that house giant pandas, links only to their official cameras and pages, and keeps dated status notes so visitors can tell how fresh the answer is.

What this site does

• Maintains the status of all three US panda zoos — San Diego Zoo, Smithsonian National Zoo, and Zoo Atlanta — with an explicit "last checked" date on every status item.
• Links the official panda cams only. The Smithsonian National Zoo's Panda Cam and the San Diego Zoo's Giant Panda Cam, both on the zoos' own domains.
• Follows the Zoo Atlanta story — Ping Ping and Fu Shuang — from the April 23, 2026 agreement announcement through the September 27, 2026 arrival, using only the zoo's own publications as sources.
• Publishes practical guides: ticket rules, timed passes, tour prices, and the real constraints (like the National Zoo's queue) that shape a panda visit.

How we verify

Every fact on this site traces to an official zoo page, and the two status pages carry a "last checked" date — currently September 29, 2026. When a zoo changes something, the fix lands here with a fresh check date. When the zoo hasn't announced something — the Atlanta debut date above all — this site says "not announced" instead of filling the gap.

What this site will never do

• No unauthorized images or streams. We do not re-stream, embed, or hotlink any zoo's camera, and we publish no photos of pandas that we don't have rights to. Every visual on this site is a simple original SVG drawn for it.
• No invented dates. If a debut, opening, or event date has not been published by the relevant zoo, you will not find a guessed date here.
• No affiliate ticketing. Links go to official zoo pages, full stop.

This is a fan-run reference. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, Zoo Atlanta, or any government or conservation body. All panda names and zoo trademarks belong to their owners, and each zoo's official website remains the final authority on everything panda-related.
