Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Giant Panda Cam ("the site," "we") collects when you visit giantpandacam.com and how it is used. Last updated: September 29, 2026.

The short version

This is a read-only content site. We don't require accounts to read it, we don't sell personal information, and we collect the minimum needed to keep the site running and understand whether anyone is reading it.

What we collect

1. Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs — IP address, browser type, referring page, and requested URLs — used for security monitoring and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to identify individual visitors and are not sold or shared.
2. Analytics. We may enable privacy-respecting traffic analytics (such as Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity) to understand which pages help readers. If enabled, those services set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. Analytics identifiers are configured per deployment; if none are configured, no analytics cookies are set.
3. Email correspondence. If you email hello@giantpandacam.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and we use them only to reply.

What we do not collect

• No accounts. The public pages of this site offer no sign-up, and reading the site never requires one.
• No payments. We sell nothing and process no payment information.
• No children's data. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and its content is directed at a general audience.

External links

This site exists almost entirely of links to official zoo websites (nationalzoo.si.edu, zoo.sandiegozoo.org, zooatlanta.org, and others). Once you follow a link, you are on that organization's site and subject to its privacy practices, not ours. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of external sites.

Data sharing and retention

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Server logs are retained only as long as the hosting provider requires for operation and security. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

Your choices

You can browse this site with cookies disabled; core content does not depend on them. If analytics are enabled in the future, the relevant provider's opt-out mechanisms will apply. To ask what we hold, request deletion of correspondence, or raise any privacy concern, email hello@giantpandacam.com.

Changes to this policy

If the site's data practices change — for example, if new analytics are enabled — this page will be updated with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be noted on this page rather than by email, since we hold no mailing list.
